David accepts an invitation from the Rural Health Education Fund to be the overseeing ENT Specialist for a national publication outlining the management of middle ear disease. November 8, 2011. David McIntosh was interviewed by Radio 4EB on the role of vaccination with respect to reducing ear infections, particularly in Indigenous children November 1, 2011. Part 1 on David's article on the impact of ENT problems on school aged children was published in the Kids on the Coast magazine. October 14, 2011. David attends the St Thomas Moore (Noosa) school prep night to talk about common ENT problems and the adverse effect they have on school performance. This was following on from a talk for the teachers at the same school, done in July this year. September 10, 2011. David presents at an all day course for dentists on malocclusion and airway problems, in conjunction with Sydney Orthodontist, Derek Mahoney. August 29, 2011. David attends the ANZSPO (kids ENT society) meeting and presents on the relationship between ENT problems and dental and orthodontic problems. August 6, 2011. David presents at the Gladstone Mater hospital GP education day on "ENT Myths- busted". August 1, 2011. David contributes articles to website itsmyhealth.com.au July 23, 2011. David attends a course on Coblation technology, held at Macquarie university, Sydney. July 19, 2011. David is the invited presenter for the Cooroy local area GP group. July 16, 2011. Dr Timperley and David are invited presenters at the National Surgical nurses day; they talk about sinus disease and advanced sinus surgery. July 16, 2011. David follows up the morning talk with a presentation at the MSD University Lecture series for about 200 GPs. The feedback from this talk was overwhelming with a 96% satisfaction rate and comments such as "left the best for last" and "excellent speaker". July 4, 2011. The ENT Specialist group are approached and successfully obtain funding for Indigenous clinic in Gladstone, Queensland. June 13, 2011. David is the invited speaker to Hervey Bay for a talk organised by Attune audiology on hearing and balance problems. June 1, 2011. David attends a meeting on Computer-assisted surgical navigation and its use in sinus surgery. May 31, 2011. David is the invited speaker to Maryborough for a talk organised by Attune audiology on hearing and balance problems. May 11, 2011. Daniel and David attend a "speed dating" GP education night at Noosa Hospital. April 12, 2011. David is the invited speaker for a GP education evening in Caboolture. March 26, 2011. The ENT Specialist clinic commits to obtaining a Stryker endoscopic video and picture capture unit, the first clinic in all of Australia to get what is the most advanced unit of its kind. February 25, 2011. Dr McIntosh presents to the Sunshine Coast branch of the Peri-operative Nurses Association of Queensland on the background to various techniques and instruments in sinus surgery. February 6, 2011. David presents to teachers at Caloundra City Private School on the relationship between ENT problems and children's learning difficulties. February 28, 2011. Dr McIntosh and Dr Timperley are certified as compliant with the College of Surgeons continuing practice development requirements. |
